In the new movie Army of the Dead, Dave Bautista goes to Las Vegas to steal a fortune hidden in a vault. Unfortunately, he and his crew have to battle zombies to reach the millions. And these aren't the mindless, shambling zombies we've seen in so many other zombie flicks. They're intelligent, organized, and have a leader. Evil personified. It's a good thing they're just creatures of fiction. Or are they?
The Bible says that without Christ, we are dead men walking ... literal zombies. Following our leader, Satan, as he wages battle against God. Enslaved, without the power within ourselves to break out of the bondage of our sinful nature.
The good news, the Gospel, is that our zombie fate doesn't have to end in death. God in his mercy made a way through Christ that we might be resurrected to new life. A life created in Christ for good works through the Holy Spirit that dwells within us.
And remember this glorious truth. Every hero of the faith throughout history was once a zombie. More than broken. Dead.
Don't be a zombie. Jesus can raise you from the dead!
